Our favorite Christmas time activity is The 12 Days of Christmas Celebration Collection. Take the stress out of 'Tis the Season and add meaning without all the hype. The 12 Days of Christmas begin on December 25th and end January 5 with Epiphany on the 6th. While gifts, baking, parties, gingerbread, and elves are all festive, they can become stressful too. Focus on Christ, not commercialism during The 12 Days of Christmas.
The 12 Days of Christmas Celebration Collection is 12 whimsical wood plank cards marking the 12 days. The cards can be stacked in a bowl or hung on a tree. Wood chips accompany the cards and can be hid throughout the home, leading the family on a hunt for that day and learning the meaning behind the symbolism.
Each whimsical wood plank has an activity for that day and an accompanying wood coin to hide. Once all coins are found on the 12th day, a gift (from small chocolates to a wrapped present) awaits in celebration of Christ.
This activity can be as simple or elaborate as you choose. The purpose of the 12 days of Christmas is to build excitement for Jesus and celebrate life. On the 12th day, enjoy a celebration with a family dinner and open one gift or trinket a person (you supply). Wake up on the Epiphany and celebrate King's day, a day representing the three kings visiting Jesus.
